Our Team:
Dawn Barnett, MS Behavior Therapist Dawn once hailed from Texas before relocating to Colorado with her husband in July of 2008. She studied as an art major at the University of North Texas from 1996-97. Upon the realization that she was doomed to a life as a ‘starving artist’ she redirected her studies to Applied Behavior Analysis and graduated with her BS in 2000. In 2002 she earned her teaching certificate and worked in the public schools teaching fourth and fifth grade. Since that time she has accumulated 10 years of diverse work experience with both typically-abled and differently-abled children and adults through the education system, nonprofit organizations, and volunteer opportunities. She recently completed her MS in Psychology from Walden University in November of 2010, is currently working toward BCBA certification, and is eager to play a role in significant social change and increased quality of life for individuals in her community. Dawn and her husband thoroughly enjoy living in Colorado and both agree that Denver feels like ‘an old friend.’ Drawing, painting, and writing are a priority when spare time is available as well as skiing, biking, and exploring off-leash dog parks with her beloved mutt Roxanne. |
